Kidneys for Kids
A series of interactive Nephrology books for kids.
About the Books
Kidneys for Kids and ABCs of Kidneys are activity books designed to give a little bit of information on all types of kidney disease. They simplify the big words you hear in a Nephrology office and do not understand as a child. They have something to do while you wait in your Nephrologist’s office. They are something to inspire you to learn more about what is happening inside your body. The goal of these books is to introduce children to mental well-being, nutrition, and exercise so that they can take an active role in caring for their bodies regardless of their diagnoses.

Find Us At
Our goal is to have the books available free of cost to any child that has any type of kidney disease. As teens, we know not many things are in our control and it is important to be educated about our bodies.
If you have a medical center that you receive care at and would like to receive the books through, please send us a message and we will contact them to see if we can get them to you. If you would like to sponsor copies of the books to be donated to a medical center please reach out to us.

Hello
My name is Anyssa Dang
I am a student at Barnard College, Columbia University. After my brother was diagnosed with Kidney Disease, I saw that he had a hard time understanding what the doctors told him about his condition and processing his feelings about his diagnosis. With the creation of this book I hope to empower children living with kidney disease diagnoses. Apart from learning about health issues affecting children, I love to read cheesy novels, make new friends, travel the world, and spend time with my family.
Hello
My name is Saara Dang
I am a high school student from Southern California. I wanted to write ABCs of Kidneys so that my brother would feel more understood in a community that was unfamiliar with his kidney condition. By explaining the basics, I hope to make it easier for his friends and family to support him— so he doesn’t have to keep explaining himself. Some favorite hobbies of mine include Bollywood dance, spending time with friends and family, listening to music, and exploring new places!
